BCCI Announces INR 58 Crore Reward for India's Champions Trophy Triumph.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 58 crore for the Indian team after their victorious campaign in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. India secured the title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final, held in Dubai on March 9.

BCCI president Roger Binny lauded the team's achievement, emphasizing the significance of winning back-to-back ICC titles. "Claiming consecutive ICC trophies is a remarkable feat, and this reward is a testament to Team India's commitment and excellence on the world stage," Binny said. "The cash prize also acknowledges the immense hard work put in behind the scenes. This marks India's second ICC title in 2025, following the U19 Women's World Cup triumph, further showcasing the strength of our cricketing ecosystem."

The International Cricket Council (ICC) had already allocated a cash prize of USD 2.24 million for the tournament winners, along with an additional $34,000 for each match victory, excluding the semi-finals and final. The total prize pool of $6.9 million for the event represents a 53% increase from the 2017 edition. The runners-up, New Zealand, received $1.12 million, while semi-finalists South Africa and Australia earned $560,000 each. Additionally, all eight participating teams were guaranteed a minimum of $125,000.

India's recent dominance in ICC events has been extraordinary. They have won 23 out of their last 24 completed matches in the last three ICC men's limited-overs tournaments. Their only loss in this period came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, which ended their ten-match unbeaten streak in that tournament. However, India bounced back by securing consecutive ICC trophies, remaining undefeated throughout the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
